Welcome to Brookside Swim Team!

Summer swim team is one of the best gifts you can give your child — it’s the perfect introduction to competitive swimming in a fun, encouraging, and low-pressure environment. Whether your swimmer is just learning the basics or already racing competitively, our team meets them where they are and helps them grow. Kids build real confidence in the water as they improve their technique, gain endurance, and experience the thrill of a race — all while being supported by coaches and teammates who cheer them on. More than just swimming, it’s friendships, discipline, teamwork, and a summer full of energy and accomplishment. No matter your child’s level, there’s a lane for them here.

The Brookside Swim Team has had a very successful swim program for many years and is always looking for new swimmers to join the team. The team swims in a competitive division of the New Jersey Swimming & Diving Conference and competes against other area summer swim club teams. Below you will find more information about our team.

General Swim Team Info

  • Swim meets are typically held in July on Saturday mornings and/or Wednesday evenings, depending upon the number of clubs participating.  Swimmers should arrive on time.
  • All parents must be prepared to work at ALL our swim meets.  We need full parent support to provide our swimmers a summer meet season.  Please be prepared to step up and work if someone is unable to. This can and does happen!
  • The amount of jobs/work obligations to be determined based on enrollment. All parents will be notified of their jobs ahead of time when possible. In addition to regular meets, all parents are expected to work at championships and conferences (if your swimmer/s qualify).
  • A work bond check will be collected by Amy Ryan, Team Parent, in the amount of $100, made out to "Brookside Swim Club" and put in the memo line, "Swim Team Work Bond".  All work bonds will be ripped up at the end of the season once all work requirements have been fulfilled by the parents of the swimmer.  Checks will only be cashed if parents have not completed their required jobs during the season.

Swimmer Requirements

  • Must be a registered member of the swim club as part of a family or individual membership
  • Must be between the ages of 5 & 18
  • Must demonstrate a basic competitive swim ability in order to be a member of the team, including being able to swim at least three of the four competitive strokes and being able to complete at least one full lap in at least two strokes
