Courtney starting swimming competitively at Brookside at the age of 4 and was a member of the Brookside Swim Team for 15 years. She was also was a member of the Raritan Valley YMCA Riptide Swim Team for 12 years and RVY National Team for 7 years, being named captain as a senior. Courtney graduated with high honors from TCNJ in May of 2019 in Early Childhood Education. She was a member of the TCNJ women's swim team for four years, and was named captain in her senior year. She also completed graduate studies at TCNJ in Special Education in May of 2020, and is currently a 2nd Grade Teacher. This will be Courtney's 6th season coaching for Brookside.
Michael starting swimming competitively for Brookside at the age of 5 and was a member of the swim team for 13 seasons. While swimming for Brookside, Michael broke (and still holds) the 8 & Under 100 Medley Relay record with his teammates and also held the 15-18 100 Breaststroke record until last season. He also was a member of Raritan Valley YMCA Swim Team for 12 years and was a part of the National Team for 6 years. Michael graduated from Saint Joseph High School in 2018, was a captain of the swim team, and was a 4x Conference Champion. This will be Michael's fourth season as a coach at Brookside . Michael was a member of the Men’s Swim Team at Fordham University. Michael is currently majoring in Accounting and Finance with a minor in Business Law and Ethics and will be graduating from Fordham this December.
Jonathan joined Brookside when he was an 8 & Under and had swam on the team until his graduation last year. This is his third year coaching for Brookside. He was also a member of Raritan Valley YMCA Riptide Swim Team for 7 years, attended nationals for five of them, and was a captain his senior year. He was also a captain for the East Brunswick High School swim team his senior year and received a varsity letter all four of his years on the team. Jonathan just finished up his freshman year at Drew University where he is a part of the swimming and diving program and is studying Business Management.
Ryan Kappes started swimming competitively at 4 years old for Nob Valley swim club of North Brunswick. At the age of 6, Ryan joined Raritan Valley YMCA Riptide. He was a member of The team for 12 years and was named captain as a Senior. Ryan attended North Brunswick township High School all 4 years of school and was named Captain of the swim team his senior year, and earning 3rd in the 100 backstroke at GMC’s his junior year. Over the Summer’s, Ryan swam at Village swim club for 6 years, then swimming at Brookside swim club for 5 years. Currently, he is attending and swimming at Montclair State University and studying Business Administration with a concentration in sports, events, and tourism. He earned Dean’s list in his first two semesters of college.
