Mid-Season Thanks and Review

Parents,

Thanks so much for a great first half of the season! Your swimmers have all had great swims, and it has been fun to watch them all! Yes, the summer dual meet season is halfway done with championships and conferences on the horizon. Our next meet is Wednesday, July 9th, and Jobs are open:) So, no meet on Saturday, July 6th. We only have one home meet left on Wednesday, July 16th, which will be our Senior night to honor our Senior Swimmers, Coach Sami and Kait, who both invest in our younger swimmers. Be there to celebrate them!

I am so thankful for all that you have done to help run the meets. As you can see, if this is your first season, it takes an army of parents to pull off a successful meet, and you all have been great. We have had every family who has swum in a meet pitch in to help, that's great!

A few thoughts and save the dates:

1. Since the number of families is lower this year compared to past years, I would appreciate it if you could continue to volunteer beyond the usual minimum requirement. Many families have already volunteered three to four times. Thank you so much. If you are in the 1-2 range, I would ask that you jump in first to fill the slots and let the rest fill in after you. All jobs are open for the remainder of our dual meet season here.

2. The Championships will take place on July 25-26 at Cedar Hill Club in Franklin. The 13 and Over swimmers are on Friday afternoon/evening, July 25th. Saturday, July 26th, is 12 and Under in the morning. We will have a lane for timing throughout the event, and I will assign each family their slots.

3. The End of Season Banquet is scheduled for July 24th at 6:00 p.m. More details will follow, but the expectation is that each family will contribute food or drinks.

4. Conferences Tuesday and Wednesday, July 29-30. We are hosting this event. Every family is required to help out, regardless of whether your swimmer has qualified, as this is a huge fundraiser for our pool. Jobs will be posted soon. There is a morning session on Tuesday and Wednesday, with an evening session on Wednesday. If you can take the morning off to help out one or both of those days, that would be great.

Thank you again for all that you do to help make this a successful summer swim season for all of our Brookside swimmers! Amy Ryan, our previous parent rep, told me we have the best parents, and she was right!

Go Brookside! and Happy 4th!

Matt
